Following the death of respected landowner Jacobus Eksteen, the historic family estate, Fynbos, is left in the hands of his two children. His son, Gideon Eksteen, returns home from Johannesburg determined to save the struggling farm from financial ruin. However, he soon discovers that mounting debts and years of hidden problems threaten everything his father built.

His sister, Maria Eksteen, believes the future lies beyond the farm and argues that part of the estate should be sold to developers. Her vision puts her at odds with Gideon, who is determined to preserve the family’s legacy at all costs.

Tensions rise when the neighboring Wessels family, longtime rivals of the Eksteens, become involved in a bitter dispute over land rights and an untouched stretch of fynbos wilderness rumored to conceal a valuable underground water source.

The conflict deepens with the return of Le Clue Wessels, a charismatic adventurer who has spent years abroad. Old feelings quickly rekindle between him and Maria, but Le Clue carries a secret capable of destroying both families.
